The Floating Pool at Hotel Podklasztorze is a response to the expectations of our Guests, who often seek peace and solace here within the walls of the 12th-century Cistercian Abbey.
What is floating?
Floating is a therapy based on sensory deprivation, i.e. the intended reduction or removal of stimuli affecting one or more senses. The floating session takes place in a special pool filled with very salty water with a high concentration of Epsom substance, with a temperature close to body temperature, thanks to which the person using the treatment floats on the water and is not affected by the forces of earth's attraction.
How does floating work?
When floating in a floating pool, all muscles can relax completely, which we are not able to achieve even during a very good sleep. Thanks to this, people who are subjected to stressful situations on a daily basis are able to achieve a state of very deep relaxation, which helps to increase creativity, reduce cortisol in the blood, and thus minimize tension. In addition, the therapy, thanks to the increase in the level of endorphins in the body, has analgesic and regenerating effects.
One floating session is equivalent to 4 hours of sleep
The high concentration of Epsom salt cleanses the body of toxins, reduces swelling and stagnation in tissues, reduces blood pressure, and has a positive effect on our beauty by softening and exfoliating the epidermis, making the skin firmer and the silhouette modeled.
